Joey Nyame is a licensed professional counselor with a diverse educational background and clinical experience that has cultivated her passion for helping all people develop agency in their lives. Her training includes a masters in school and mental health counseling from the University of Pennsylvania with a focus on social justice and multiculturalism. She has worked with children of all ages as well as individuals and couples from various cultural and ethnic backgrounds and gender identities. Joey focuses on supporting you in understanding and growing from trauma, and developing more positive and optimistic outlooks on life, and gaining The skills needed to function in society and navigate your personal difficulties. Joey became a therapist because she wanted to help people understand themselves well enough to get the most out of their lives. She uses a Person Centered therapeutic approach that aims to empower clients to trust themselves and their abilities to make the best decisions for their lives.
