Amanda Thomson, LPC

Amanda began working in the helping field in 2002. She earned her master's degree in Counseling Psychology at Arcadia University in 2014. Her work experience includes community mental health, leading groups, working in schools, and working in primary care. She works with people who struggle with anxiety, depression, or other overwhelming emotions. Her approach is both client-centered and collaborative, as she helps each client build a life worth living. Amanda works with her clients in a way that includes warmth, empathy, and commitment, making sure her clients feel safe and heard.

Amanda uses primarily motivational interviewing, CBT, and DBT. She works from a weight neutral perspective. Amanda uses a non-judgmental approach to create a safe space for exploration and growth. She also teaches concrete skills and strategies for how to manage emotions, interact with others, and manage crisis situations. Amanda is dedicated to helping her clients build lives that are fulfilling.
