Andrea Stoecker is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in both Pennsylvania and New York.  Andrea has over 16 years’ experience in a variety of settings, including inpatient, outpatient, intensive outpatient and day habilitation with clients ranging from adolescence through geriatrics.  Andrea graduated from Adelphi University with her Master’s in Social Work.  She has received specialized training from the Aaron T. Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to administer Cognitive Therapy.  Andrea received additional training in trauma-focused CBT, mindfulness-based interventions for stress management, exposure and response prevention and interventions related to disordered eating.  Andrea enjoys working with clients presenting with clinical concerns including, anxiety disorders, depression and mood disorders, interpersonal and life transition concerns, adjustment disorder, grief and loss, caregiver strain, chronic medical conditions, alcohol and substance use disorders, emotional eating, and pre/post-bariatric surgery.  Andrea is experienced in providing the required psychosocial evaluation prior to receiving bariatric surgery.

While trained psychodynamically, Andrea utilizes a trauma-informed, strengths based and biopsychosocial approach that incorporates cognitive and mindfulness-based interventions. Andrea feels that a strong therapeutic alliance is essential to successful therapy and walks alongside her patients in overcoming their present concerns through exploration of upbringing and relational influence.  Andrea recognizes the importance of looking at the whole self to achieve fulfillment in one’s own life.
