Antonio Fernandez, LPC
Antonio Fernandez (he/him) is a licensed practicing counselor based in the Philadelphia area who specializes in work with trauma, anxiety, grief and depression. He had earned his Masters in Trauma Based Counseling from Eastern University and has worked in therapeutic environments ranging from one-on-one behavioral work with children and teens in schools and community to residential treatment facilities and intensive case management for adults. His background covers various aspects of community mental health, as well as individualized therapy for underserved and marginalized populations. With over 10 years of experience in mental health, he takes a person centered, strengths-based approach while utilizing elements of psychoeducation, nonjudgement and mindfulness in order to help clients to tackle issues related to relational and complex trauma, life transitions, social anxiety, and intersectional issues with an emphasis on cultural and racial inclusivity.
Antonio has experience of working with various individuals from walks of life and varying cultural, financial, and social backgrounds while maintaining an equitable and meaningful connection through an emphasis on non-judgment and seeing the entire person as they see themselves.
Antonio currently provides individual therapy to clients aged 14 and above, and specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) as well as Prolonged Exposure (PE) with mindfulness based interventions. He also has a vested interest in growing and developing experience through Internal Family Systems (IFS) and developmental growth of the self.
