Kristen Townley, LSW

As a queer clinician, Kristen (they/them) understands the quiet power it takes to know yourself in a world that demands simplicity. Their work honors folks whose identities don’t fit neatly into categories while carving their own path through expectation and tradition. Whether you’re navigating complex relationships, questioning your place in the world, or holding grief that others can’t see, Kristen offers a space where you don’t have to explain or prove yourself.

Kristen is a dedicated and affirming therapist known for their collaborative, trauma-informed approach to care. They have experience across multiple areas of behavioral health, including post-adoption support, disability advocacy, and LGBTQIA+ care, working with individuals, couples, and families throughout southeastern Pennsylvania.

With a strong foundation in systems navigation and clinical coordination, they bring insight into how people move through care systems and how those systems can be reimagined to center dignity and access. Kristen’s approach is shaped by a deep commitment to equity, client autonomy, and evolving alongside those they serve.

Clients describe Kristen them as warm, relatable, and grounded. Their work is informed by training in Internal Family Systems (IFS), DBT, EMDR, somatic practices, and trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TFCBT). They are a Certified Trauma Professional (CTP) with a certificate as an LGBTQIA+ Care Specialist and are completing additional certifications in sex and relationship therapy.

Kristen earned their Master of Social Work from West Chester University and holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Temple University. They are a Licensed Social Worker in Pennsylvania under supervision for their LCSW. In both therapy and program development, Kristen has helped build inclusive, anti-oppressive models of care to support queer and marginalized communities.

They believe healing begins when we feel safe enough to be our full selves and that even the softest truths deserve to be met with understanding. Kristen is here when you're ready.
