Maria Delgado, LPC
Maria Delgado is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania. Maria graduated with her Master of Science in Community and Trauma Counseling from Thomas Jefferson University. She has experience working with adolescents and adults who have a history of trauma and co-occurring disorders such as depression, anxiety, and substance use disorders. She’s worked with individuals presenting with a wide range of concerns including relationship issues, life transitions, grief, sexual and physical abuse, domestic violence, attachment issues, and sexual behaviors. She recognizes how one’s racial, cultural, and faith background impact recovery and welcomes integrating these components in therapy. Maria had worked with groups and individuals from diverse racial, educational, socioeconomic backgrounds, sexual orientations, and gender identities. She will work with you to create a treatment plan that is strength-based and collaborative.
Maria uses an integrative approach to healing and utilizes a wide range of person-centered, trauma-informed approaches. This means that she will always work collaboratively with you in the therapeutic process to identify helpful next steps or recommendations for you as an individual. Maria uses mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral, and psychodynamic modalities in order to meet clients where they are. She has advanced training several evidenced based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Her goal is to help individuals find tools to heal and empower themselves as well as hold a safe space for processing and growth.
