Peg Crinnion, LSW
Therapist
Peg is a licensed social worker who enjoys helping people address difficult experiences in life. She would be honored to join with you to non-judgmentally explore patterns which may not serve your needs and guide you to discover your own strength to implement changes at a comfortable pace.
She received her BA from the University of Pennsylvania and a JD from the University of Connecticut School of Law. Peg worked as an attorney at a law firm, and volunteered at a disability law clinic along with numerous other community organizations. She received her Master of Social Service degree (MSW equivalent) from Bryn Mawr Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research. Her professional journey is one in which she began as an advocate for clients in a legal setting, and now helps people advocate for themselves.
Peg is interested in working with adult clients (18 and older). She has social work experience at a nursing home, providing individual counseling to people aged 80 and older. While there, Peg learned that it is never too late to experience healing and hope. She also has experience at a university counseling center providing therapy for young adults with a range of mental health concerns. Peg has helped people with issues of grief, loss, depression, stress, life transitions, relational conflicts, and anxiety.
Using an attachment lens to explore relational patterns, she employs techniques of Cognitive Behavioral Theory (CBT) to counsel clients with attunement, caring and compassion. She understands that the genesis of behavior often harkens back to earlier life experiences, providing a rich tapestry to explore together.
Peg strives to make therapy a welcoming and safe place to process, to learn and hopefully to move forward with renewed clarity. She seeks above all to ensure every person is seen, heard, and respected as they navigate life’s challenges.
