Rhyan Hughes, PsyD
Dr. Rhyan Hughes (she/her/hers) is a licensed psychologist (PsyD) with diverse experience working in the mental health field. She graduated from East Carolina University with a Master’s in Substance Abuse and Clinical Counseling and later earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Immaculata University. Rhyan has an extensive background in acute crisis and emergency department settings, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, neuropsychology, and forensic community mental health.
Rhyan has worked with clients of diverse racial, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds and has experience working with individuals who identify with the LGBTQ+ community. Additionally, Rhyan has extensive experience working with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, ADHD, paraphilic disorders, psychotic disorders, trauma, anger management issues, and difficult life adjustments.
Rhyan uses a holistic approach that incorporates components of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Client-Centered Therapy, Psychoanalytic Therapy, trauma-informed therapies, and harm reduction. She emphasizes the importance of empathic understanding and works collaboratively to identify individualized goals based upon the unique needs of each client. Ultimately, Rhyan strives to help and support those who are looking to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of themselves to live a happier, healthier, more fulfilling life.
