Rhyan Hughes, PsyD
Rhyan Hughes (she/her/hers) is a licensed psychologist (PsyD) with 10 years of experience providing mental health care across crisis/emergency settings, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, neuropsychology services, and community based outpatient/partial hospitalization programs. She earned her Master's in Substance Abuse and Clinical Counseling from East Carolina University and her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Immaculata University.
Rhyan enjoys working with client from diverse backgrounds, with a special commitment to supporting individuals who identify with the LGBTQ+ community. Her focus includes adjustment and life stressors, identity development, self-esteem, grief counseling, relationship concerns, and healing from trauma or adverse experiences. She also provides couples therapy, particularly focusing on trust, communication, and health emotional expression.
Her approach is holistic and collaborative, drawing on CBT, DBT, client-centered therapy, trauma-informed care, psychoanalytic principles, and harm reduction. Rhyan emphasizes empathic understanding, self-awareness, personal accountability, and individualized goal-setting to support meaningful change.
