Group Psychotherapy
Group therapy helps individuals develop communication skills and socialization skills, and allows clients to learn how to express their issues and accept criticism from others. Group therapy allows individuals to develop self-awareness by listening to others with similar issues. Please ask our staff what types of groups we are offering.
Please reach out to PhilaTherapy, LLC. to sign up today at 215.282.3004 or contact@myphilatherapy.com. Groups will be held in the evenings on either Mondays or Tuesdays from 6:30pm-8:00pm based on number if individuals interested.
Conflict Resolution and Healthy Communication
In this group we explore themes of: anger and its justifications; challenges in relationships with friends, family, and partners; and strategies for honest, direct, and supportive communication.
This group is for you if you are curious to speak fearlessly, calmly, and effectively in all of your interactions.
Emotional Health and Physical Wellness
In this group we explore themes of: emotional patterns across personalities; strategies for identifying, listening to, and surrendering difficult feelings; approaches to nourishing one's vitality; and the connection between mind-body. This group is for you if you want to develop a holistic awareness of what your personality needs and how to achieve liveliness in all domains of your life.
Note on therapy groups - An effective group relies on participants sharing their reactions to their peers as people. Growth in the group context is not only about problem solving within the theme, but also about learning how people think about you, feel about you, sense your presence, and imagine your role in day to day life. The therapist (facilitator) is not a teacher: they are an observer of and commentator on the interactions of the participants.
