Christian Geirsson, LPC
Christian is a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Board Certificated Counselor, a proud graduate of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher education, advocate for the arts, and a lifelong learner of therapeutic interventions.
He has spent his career working in community mental health, partial hospital program, and private practice mental health settings. He began providing therapy at a residential facility serving adjudicated male youths as a mobile therapist before transitioning to an outpatient therapist role. In addition to maintaining a small caseload at PhilaTherapy, he also works as a Primary Therapist with a high-acuity mental health and substance-use adult population at a partial hospital program in the mid-state region.
Christian employs a blend of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness training, and solution-focused interventions to help individuals seek resolution to cognitive and emotional problems in their day-to-day lives. He has completed trainings with The Beck Institute for Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy in Bala Cynwyd. Additionally, Christian considers himself a student of Carl G. Jung, and is currently participating in the Philadelphia Association of Jungian Analysts 2025-2026 Philadelphia Jung Seminar. From time to time he will employ the use of dream work, myth, and metaphor with clients.
Christian seeks to both discover solutions to clients’ current problems, and dig to understand unexplored parts of the self. Utilizing modern and classic approaches to self-discovery, Christian guides clients to recognize maladaptive thinking or behavior patterns, implement change where necessary, and commune with previously-hidden parts of themselves.
