D'Arcy McCaughan, LCSW.
D'Arcy, a licensed clinical social worker, earned her master's degree in social work at Bryn Mawr Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research. Upon completing her graduate work, D'Arcy became a full-time counselor at Lower Merion Counseling Services, which serves the Medicaid and Medicare populations. D'Arcy's specialty is with individuals who struggle with co-occurring diagnoses, especially those dealing with substance use.
After receiving her clinical license, D'Arcy took a position as a Primary Therapist at Recovery Centers of America, outpatient department. There she sees individuals, couples and groups for Substance Use and Mental Health services.
In addition to treating individuals who struggle with substance use, D'Arcy provides one-on-one therapeutic treatment for adults ranging from depression, anxiety, PTSD, and bi-polar disorder, among many others.
D'Arcy's believes that in spite of life's challenges there are ways to manage stress and other issues in a healthy, productive way. Her philosophy includes helping you to become the best version of yourself. Her engaging and warm approach disarms normal barriers we create to protect ourselves. She creates a safe, non-judgemental space to allow vulnerability, where most of the work is done. D'Arcy utilizes your strengths to empower you and help you to reframe unhelpful thinking habits and reduce the intensity of negative emotions.
Utilizing Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, strength-based approaches, solution-focused therapy and Narrative Therapy, among others, D'Arcy will guide you in navigating difficult situations, establish healthy boundaries and prioritize self-care. She will support you in your journey toward self-discovery and personal growth as you move toward your most authentic self.
